Selling the family home where you have grown up is always a daunting prospect, but even more so when you aren’t residing locally. Having spent the last 20 or so years away from the U.S. living in the U.K., my partner Mark and I had very little knowledge of the ins and outs of the property market in Southern California.
We investigated a number of realtors and quickly realized that we were going to require someone with exemplary communication skills and perhaps even more importantly, a realtor who we could trust to handle the sale in our absence.
The first thing that impressed me about Andy was that he was able to take our knowledge of the U.K. market and interpret for us so we felt more informed about the whole process of selling in Los Angeles. Thinking about buying my first house was like buying my first new car. Every time I even thought about it, I’d start breaking out in a sweat.
